Find Your Skin Type

We all know the importance of skincare, but how exactly can you take care of your skin effectively? Determining your skin type is the most crucial first step to tailor a customised skincare routine that works.

Even though everyone’s skin is unique, there are generally six broad categories of skin types: oily, dry, normal, combination, sensitive and mature.

Oily skin

Oily skin produces excess sebum, especially throughout the t-zone (forehead, nose and chin). It appears shiny, feels greasy and is more prone to acne blemishes and breakouts.

Opt for oil-free, non-comedogenic products that contain active ingredients like salicylic acid, glycolic acid and lactic acid.

Dry skin

Dry skin appears dull and tends to be rough, flaky and scaly. It is more prone to showing visible lines and may become itchy or irritated.

Opt for a gentle, hydrating facial cleanser and remember to exfoliate at least once a week to remove dead skin cells and leave your skin looking radiant and fresh. We also recommend giving your skin a moisture boost with a hydrating serum.

Normal skin

Normal skin appears well-balanced – neither too dry nor too oily. It has a regular texture and is not prone to breakouts or flakiness.

Keep up with a regular skincare routine of cleansing and moisturising to maintain balanced, healthy-looking skin.

Combination skin

Combination skin presents characteristics of both oily and dry skin, with the t-zone (forehead, nose and chin) typically appearing oily and the cheeks appearing dry or normal.

Opt for a gentle facial cleanser and exfoliator that's suitable for all skin types.

Sensitive skin

Sensitive skin is more prone to allergic reactions and may appear red and dry. It may also be characterised by feelings of discomfort like itching or burning.

Opt for fragrance-free products that contain soothing ingredients like chamomile. See our recommended products for sensitive skin.

Mature skin

Mature skin lacks luminosity and firmness, and appears dry and dull. There may also be hyperpigmentation and the appearance of dark spots.

We recommend an anti-ageing skincare routine.
